Visky Károly Museum is a unique regional museum in the centre of the town.

The Collection of Minerals is one of the most valuable parts of the museum, shown by the exhibition called "Minerals and Life".
It is a very special and irreplaceable collection, because most of the mines have been closed since then.

The Collection of Coins got to the museum from the Jesuit Grammar School and it is divided into 4 parts:
The first part includes the antique coins from the Greek, Roman and Byzantine money striking. The second group displays Hungarian coins of all important money eras beginning with I. Stephen's denarius. The third part is the exhibition of foreign coins. There are European, Asian and colonial coins as well. The fourth element is the collection of religious and catholic coins.

The textile collection, which shows Kalocsa folk art and folk costumes from the middle of the 19th century to nowadays, is the most interesting and the most valuable part of the ethnographical exhibition.

The archaeological collection is not too large by the piece, but there are very valuable relics from Homokmégy-Halom cemetery of the Hungarian conquest age:
Among others there is a bone plate with runic writing on it.
The historical documentary collection contains a lot of interesting and priceless pieces: archive photos, postcards, newspapers and different publications, which are the memories of Kalocsa history.

Our Data Base, Historical and Fine Art Collection, preserve important relics for this region.
Nearly one fifth of the 10000 volumes in our library have been issued in Kalocsa.
The program takes about 40 minutes.

We are looking forward to welcoming our guests!
