Kalocsa is situated near to the River Danube, 120 km far from Budapest.
It is famous for its ecclesiastical value, folk art and the paprika spice. Talking about the folk art we consider Kalocsa the jewel box of Hungary.
The flowers, meadows and gardens of the town and later the paprika inspired local women to put these patterns in their hand-works, and to make them eternal.
These patterns appeared on furniture, walls and later on porcelain products as well.
Hand drawn and hand- painted patterns were burned on the porcelain in a kiln, which needed special technology. The Porcelain Painting Factory was founded for this purpose in the second period of the last century, and has became world famous since then.
Our guests will get acquainted with the process of porcelain painting and porcelain production as well.
The factory offers its customers different kind of hand-painted, richly decorated articles and fancy goods, which can be suitable gifts for everyone.
The program takes about 50 minutes.
We are looking forward to welcoming our guests!
